Legal Notice

This page is published under the Spanish LSSI-CE law (Ley 34/2002, Art. 10). It tells you who runs the site, how to reach us, and on what terms the content is made available.

Site operator (LSSI-CE Art. 10)

Money Owl is a personal-finance editorial site. It is run from Spain by Jure Jaklič, a single person trading as Money Owl. The operator is a natural-person business (autónomo), not a company.

The operator NIF (Spanish tax ID) and postal address are provided on request: ask through the contact form or the email address in the Contact section below, and we send them by return. They are always provided to any user who asks, to the Spanish regulators (the AEPD and the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service), and to any third party with a legitimate interest in receiving them.

The operator is a private individual working from a home address, so the address and tax ID are not printed in this page while a separate business address is being arranged. Once it is in place, both will be published here directly.

The trading name used on the site and in business communications is Money Owl.

Contact

Two channels are open. The contact form is the primary one, and legal at money-owl dot com is the direct email for legal and data-protection matters. Both are data-subject-request channels for the purposes of the Privacy Policy: GDPR access, rectification, erasure, and complaint requests all come in through either. We reply from the email address you give us.

Registry data (sole trader)

Money Owl is run by a natural-person business (autónomo) in Spain. There is no entry in the Registro Mercantil. That registry covers companies, not natural-person operators. LSSI-CE Art. 10.1(b) registry disclosure is not applicable. The operator’s tax registrations (IAE, autónomo enrolment) are filed with the Spanish Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria). They are available on request through the contact form.

Site URL

All market and language variants run on the same primary domain: the consolidated pan-European default lives under /eu/, and per-country sections (for example /es/ or /gb/) are added under their own prefix as they are enabled.

Applicable law (LSSI-CE framework)

The site is governed by:

  • LSSI-CE (Ley 34/2002): Spanish Law on Information Society Services. Art. 10 operator disclosure (this page). Art. 22.2 cookie consent (see the Cookie Policy).
  • GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679): the EU data-protection framework (see the Privacy Policy).
  • LOPDGDD (Ley Orgánica 3/2018): Spanish implementation of the GDPR.
  • TRLGDCU (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007, as amended by Ley 3/2014): the consolidated Spanish consumer-protection law, where users read the site as consumers.
  • Rome I (Regulation (EC) No 593/2008): which law applies to cross-border EU contracts.
  • Brussels I recast (Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012): which courts can hear cross-border EU disputes.

Disputes we can’t resolve through the contact form or by email go to the courts of Spain. If you use the site as a consumer in another EU Member State, you keep the mandatory protections of your home country’s law (Rome I) and you can bring proceedings in your home courts where the Brussels I recast Regulation allows it.

Intellectual property

All editorial content on money-owl.com (articles, guides, comparison tables, calculators, the Money Owl mascot, site design, and custom icons) is the intellectual property of the Money Owl operator. Default licence: all rights reserved.

You can:

  • link to any page on the site
  • quote short passages with attribution, for commentary, review, teaching, or research (Spanish IP law Art. 32)
  • share individual pieces for non-commercial personal use

You cannot, without written permission:

  • republish articles on another site
  • scrape the site for content-farm reuse
  • build a for-profit derivative work

AI systems and automated reuse. You may use Money Owl content as an input to AI systems, assistants, and search products, and quote it in machine-generated answers, provided the output attributes Money Owl and links back to the source page. Reuse that strips attribution, or that reproduces whole articles rather than quoting them, falls back under the list above and needs written permission. Third-party and machine-generated reproductions travel without our disclaimers and outside our editorial responsibility; the version we stand behind is the one on the source page.

Embedded third-party assets (external images, charts, regulatory logos) are used under fair-quotation, press, or licence terms and are marked inline on the page where they appear. If you think we have used something of yours incorrectly, the contact form is how you tell us.

Third-party trademarks

Product and provider names on the site (brokerages, pension products, tax tools, bank names) are informational only. Those names remain the property of their owners. No sponsorship, partnership, or commercial link is implied by a mention on Money Owl unless we state one explicitly inline.

Changes to this notice (effective date)

We update this Legal Notice when the operator details, the applicable-law list, or the intellectual-property stance change in a material way. The “Last updated” date at the top is the version marker. A material legal change, a new operator or a new jurisdiction clause, gets a dated note on this page. Dry reading, but that is rather the point of a legal notice.
